ADVANCED DESIGN & ANALYSIS:

FEA Online engineers have extensive experience in detailed engineering and non-linear finite element analysis carried out in accordance with a variety of codes of practice, including BS 8010, ANSI B31, & DNV OS-F101

This includes but is not limited to the assessment of the following onshore, sub-sea and marine systems (contact us for more details regarding your specific requirements in this field):-

STRAIN-BASED DESIGN:

Detailed non-linear material and geometry analysis to calculate plastic strains as limit-state design principals were applied. This allows sub-sea structure and pipelines to be optimised beyond traditional working allowable stress limits. Mechanical and or thermal strain cycles were also considered to ensure the operational stability of the structure(s).

MECHANICAL & FATIGUE DESIGN OF BULKHEADS:

Design and analysis of pipeline bulkheads in accordance with ASME VIII.

ANALYSIS OF PIPELINE TIE-IN SPOOLS:

Design and analysis of sub-sea and onshore tie-in spools involving anisotropic sliding sea-bed surface contact.

DESIGN AND OPTIMIZATION FOR PROTECTION OF SUB-SEA STRUCTURES:

Analytical assessment and FE analysis of Wye and Tee protection structures in accordance with AISC.

DYNAMIC ANALYSIS TO ASSESS FISHING GEAR INTERACTION WITH PIPELINES:

Local impact effects and dynamic assessment of the trawling gear passing over the pipeline(s).

GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONS:

Numerical assessment of pile-to-soil interaction via complex non-linear material FE models.
