Artemis Vessel FEA

The now well established and over 5-year partnership between Rutherford Appleton Laboratories (UK) and FEA Online continues with further analysis on the Artemis pressure vessel, part of a state-of-the-art vacuum beamline on the particle accelerator at RAL. Pressure Vessel FEA for LCI Ltd, UK:

LCI have over 25 years experience in the creation of spectacular, stunning shows and events around the world. LCI combine Technical Excellence and Creative innovations, to thrill audiences, capture attention and celebrate occasions. From multi million pound installations to single night hire sound, lighting, fountains and other water effects, pyrotechnics and fireworks – all are used to their best potential in LCI productions.

LCI has commissioned FEA Online to conduct a basic static strength analysis of a new water canon pressure vessel design to be used in one of their shows.

Tool Pack FEA for Ball Corp, USA:

Ball Corporation is a provider of metal and plastic packaging for beverages, foods, household products, aerospace and other technologies & services to commercial and governmental customers. Founded in 1880, the company employs more than 14,000 people in more than 90 locations worldwide.

Ball Corporation has commissioned FEA Online to conduct static & dynamic analyses of a new tool pack end plate design used in one of their production facilities.

ISO 9001:2008 (ISO 9001) Certification:

As part of our ongoing commitment to achieving and maintaining the highest possible standards in the services we provide, FEA Online have contracted The British Accreditation Bureau to undertake certification to the ISO 9001:2008 Standard. The anticipated schedule for full registration is September 2009. Our letter of commitment may be viewed here. More soon..

Pressure Vessel Analysis:

Autoclaves Limited (UK) manufactures and refurbishes autoclaves and ovens to the customer's exact requirements or to a defined budget. Autoclaves have commissioned FEA Online to conduct a thermo-mechanical analysis of one of their waste autoclave designs. The analysis will encompass strength & fatigue assessments to PD5500 standards.

Sebsea Connector Analysis:

Diamould is a specialist company designing and manufacturing electrical, hydraulic and fibre optic connectors primarily for use in hostile environments, subsea and downhole. They provide innovative technical engineering solutions, which utilize advanced materials (polymers & elastomers) for high-performance applications. Diamould have commissioned FEA Online to conduct specialist analysis of one of their designs and builds on the experience gained on a similar project that FEA Online worked on in 2008. We hope to be featuring a Diamould project as a case study in our case studies section in the near future.

Blast Analysis for Calder Ltd, UK:

Calder Ltd (UK) is the leading supplier of high pressure pumps and water jetting accessories. They provide a breadth of experience and technology in the field of fluid processing and water blast applications. FEA Online was awarded the contract by Calder Ltd to assess the structural integrity of a new pumping skid noise hood and adjoining pipework.

Since the skid will be located in a safety critical zone, the noise hood surrounding the skid assembly is required to maintain its structural integrity following an explosion. This complex event requires the use of dynamic “time-history” analysis techniques to assess the rapid application of the blast pressures. Complementing the blast analysis a natural frequency assessment of the adjoining pipework will also be carried out.

This analysis builds on the experience already gained on a similar project carried out by FEA Online for Calder last year.
